DESCRIPTION: Asa Munger, Auburn, New York, so-called "Ironing Board Top" Empire carved column shelf clock with 8 day, weight driven, time and strike brass movement in a butternut case with mahogany veneer, c1830.
CONDITION: The case retains its original finish. The painted iron dial has minor loss on the outer edge with worn signature. The hands are original as is the flying eagle pendulum bob. The case interior is nicely wallpapered and there is a very good label. Two of the four pulleys are the original pewter versions. The glass which normally covers the tin painting in the door top is no longer there. The door mirror is a replacement. Seconds hand is missing. Ht 39"
